I have lived nearly all my life (with the exception of about 6 total months) in AZ. I have seen wild animals but mostly on the highway or while camping. Since we have moved to Anthem we have seen coyotes (in the beginning we saw them a lot), 1 Javelina (on the way to Walmart it crossed the road right in front of us), 1 bobcat (the girls saw this on the way to school and then a couple days later we read about it in the local publication - yikes) and today on our way to church I witnessed a vulture tearing apart roadkill (Just around the corner from our house by our small park) All these animals were in my neighborhood...it is actually cool because I have always been in the car, but it is weird too because Anthem is not that far from the main hustle and bustle of Phoenix. I thought briefly about taking pictures in each of these encounters, however I change my mind quickly because I am a big wus and think surely these animals - interesting as they are - could quickly attack me and that is not my idea of fun.
We still don't have bears like the Biggs family.
