No more

Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Cola, Squirt, Root beer, and candies of all sorts...I am addicted. I was home the week of Kelsie's graduation and found myself eating mostly candy and drinking mostly soda. Nothing else sounded good or tasted good. I had a fridge of healthy choices and I just would look at them and say...not feeling it today. I don't know what day it was exactly but I was feeling horrible - no energy and just did not feel my normal self and I knew I should not be grabbing the Twix or the Dr. Pepper but I just couldn't help myself. So that day - disgusted with my lack of will power - I decided I would give up all candy and soda for at least the entire summer beginning in June and going at least through August. (I am not giving up all sugar - just in the easy access form). As a goodbye to candy and soda I went and bought ice cream and candies so that I could have a delicious reeses pb ice cream shake (Thank you Jed for making that for me). It has been 6 days and the soda cravings are there but easily managed - I just drink lots of water and I am good. The candy has been the most difficult. I crave it all day. I see it in the freezer and want to eat it - I have been trying to substitute it with yummy fruit - the fruit tastes good but I still have the cravings. Once upon a time I did not crave candy ever - in fact when I was offered a candy bar I could make it last a week and I could never even finish a soda. I can't wait for it to be like that again - or at least not craving it daily!!

I am joining you...I need someone to keep me motivated. :) So for the summer no soda or candy. Alright, here I go.

Keep posting updates here and there. Good luck! I know when I have gone off sugar totally, it takes 3 to 4 days for the headache to go away and then the cravings really stop pretty good too.
