We Salute you!

John joined the Air Force Reserves at the beginning of the year. This means one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year he reports to Tucson's Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. It also means he can be deployed at anytime. We knew he would be going to training for the position he now has but thought the earliest would be September. On Wednesday the 4th of May (just before his weekend that he reports for his Reserve duty) he received a call letting him know that he would be activated and sent to Mississippi to attend tech school for 3 months. Oh and he needed to be there on the 16th of May. So he left on May 6 to report for his weekend (our anniversary)and came back May 8th (mother's day) and we spent the next 3 days getting everything taken care of before he left and he left Thursday to go back to Tucson to finish up "stuff" that needed to be taken care of before he left for Mississippi. Then he drove to Mississippi and on Monday started his tech school. Honestly it was so fast that I really did not have time to be worried, or feel sad. I do miss him but am so proud of him for all that he does for our family.
